Today, fire protection plays an increasingly important role. Every year, a lot of money is spent on early fire detection and the containment of fires in certain areas when constructing or renovating buildings.

Especially in facilities where people are cared for, those responsible face difficult tasks. It is often impossible to assess fire hazards or how they might develop. Such facilities include psychiatric hospitals, juvenal homes or homes for the elderly suffering from dementia, for example.

On the one hand, residents of such facilities should not and cannot be prohibited from smoking, but on the other hand, an unattended lighter poses a fire hazard.

For example, 9 out of 10 fires in homes for residents with dementia are not caused by technical defects or the like, but by the residents themselves. In many areas, lighters are kept under lock and key to avoid danger and smoking is sometimes only done under the supervision of the nursing staff.

This approach costs manpower and time. According to a Scandinavian study, a nurse in a psychiatric ward spends several hours a week just giving patients a light.

For this reason, we have developed stationary flameless lighters so lighters can be completely removed, and safety is increased by reducing the risk of fire.

Why flameless cigarette lighters?

01

Flameless
lighters

Stationary flameless lighters, which are installed in certain smoking areas such as the garden, balcony, or a smoking room, negate the need for lighters altogether. Smoking is thus restricted to safe areas. Inappropriate use of lighters in unsupervised areas is also prevented. This greatly increases safety by  reducing the risk of fire and relieves the burden for staff.

02

Improving
quality of life

Our lighters are also used in areas where smokers are no longer able to use lighters due to illness (Parkinson’s, gout, Huntington’s disease). In many such cases, enjoying tobacco may be one of their few remaining joys. The possibility of being able to do this independently again is a decisive gain in their quality of life.

03

Reduce
workload

For care and maintenance staff in facilities such as hospitals, juvenal homes or homes for elderly residents, our flameless lighters reduce the workload. Patients or residents can smoke independently in safe areas without the need for staff supervision. The very long service life of the lighting elements also reduces the workload for maintenance staff. Our devices offer maximum ease of use, safety, and no need for maintenance.

04

Different
safety classes

Safety is our top priority and shutdown measures in the event of overheating or prolonged use are standard. Nevertheless, in the basic configuration of our appliances we seek an ideal compromise between safety, operability, and low maintenance. Since requirements in areas where our appliances are used differ considerably, we offer devices with various safety levels. You can find more information here.
